Hellenic Gas Transmission System Operator (DESFA) published for the 6th consecutive year the Carbon Footprint & Sustainability Report, which aims to depict measurements on its performance based on a series of Security, Quality and Environmental Indicators.
Within the framework of a continuous improvement and aiming at the most accurate calculation of its carbon footprint, an update of the emission factors was carried out, while a thorough check on the consumption figures was also performed.
It has been estimated that for 2016 there has been a significant improvement of DESFA’s ecological footprint, since the high goals set by the company in a number of environmental indicators were achieved.
The Carbon Footprint Report lies in agreement with the Greenhouse Gas Protocol (GHG), as an international acceptable calculation methodology of Gas Emissions and is compatible with other international calculation standards, such as ISO 14064:2013, which allows immediate results integration into national and international greenhouse gas inventories.
The Carbon Footprint & Sustainability Report depicts DESFA’s commitment to Responsible Entrepreneurship guidelines and is available on our website (only a Greek version is available).
